The MIO alerta v2 Signal Explorer is primarily intended for LoRa signal strength surveys, where one location might be the intended position of a LoRaWAN Gateway and the other being the intended position(s) of lora end node or nodes.
In addition to providing information relevant to LoRa signal strength the device can report cellular signal values for Cat-M and NBIoT, as long as a suitable working SIM card is fitted.
The devices are usually provided as a pair so that they can send LoRa messages back and forth between each other, to determine whether devices deployed in the same positions, with the same antenna types, may be able to provide reliable LoRa communications.
The units are usually supplied as a kit with 2 cellular/LoRa devices in a carry case.
